About Even Start Family Literacy
- Offers home and center based literacy services. Home visits are facilitated by a PA certified teacher and a family development specialist.
- Four components of Family Literacy offered to families include: adult education, early childhood education, parenting/life skills development and Interactive Literacy Activities (ILA).
- Goals: To improve literacy of all members of the family, while promoting parental involvement in their children’s education as the child’s first and most important teacher.
Program Eligibility
- Must be a resident of Washington or Greene County
- A family must have a child, birth to 8 years old and an adult family member in need of education services to be eligible.
- No income guidelines
